The primary bill
sponsors, Representatives Hartsook and Hamrick, introduced Senate Bill
26-162 to the House Health and Human Services Committee. Starting July
1, 2027, this bill prohibits the immediate release of certain sensitive
test results to a patientâs electronic health record or patient portal
and requires a delay of three business days after the results are finalized.
Sensitive test results are defined as certain pathology, radiology, or
genetic tests related to cancer. Exceptions to the delay are permitted
if the provider authorizes earlier release or if the patient requests to
receive the results without a delay. |
